Day Four - Waiting In Hope
Verses For The Day
Psalm 27:13-14
Yet I am confident… I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord.

Trusting God might often look hard. Sometimes it makes us weary and feel uncertain.
What do you do when a promise has been made and it seems delayed? When God said He would give you children, restore or give you a family, a job, healing, or bless the work of your hands, but all you see right now appears contrary to His word? There seems to be a gap between promise spoken and promise seen. What do you do in the gap? Do you keep hoping, praying, seeking and serving while you wait, or do you give up and try to make it happen on your own?
Throughout Scripture, many people had their seasons of waiting for the fulfilment of God’s promises. Hannah waited for a child. She wept in the temple, until her silent cries deepened and broke into a trembling worship. Her waiting became her altar.
Delay is often God’s training ground for purpose; it is not denial. God uses waiting to build our trust, refine our motives, and mature our faith. He desires that we delight in Him, keep chasing after Him, even when what we hope for hasn’t yet touched our hands. He longs for us to trust Him, wholly, confidently, and patiently. Choosing the Giver above the gift.
Waiting can be painful, stressful, and even shameful. Yet, as Scripture reminds us, “Hope does not make ashamed” (Romans 5:5) and God is near to those that wait.
Today, as you start your day, find strength and courage in Him. Stretch out your faith toward the heart of the One who has promised, for He is more than able to do what He has said.
Your season of waiting is a process of faith and it is never wasted. Hold on just a little while longer, and as you wait, do it joyfully, in hope, in service and deepen your intimacy with the One who is faithful to His word.

Prayer For The Day
Pray with me: I pray, that the God who gives hope, will fill me with much joy and peace, as I wait and trust in Him. He will teach my heart to wait patiently and joyfully. And my heart will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Romans 15:13)
