Day 7 - Resurrection Sunday

Happy Easter Sunday! This day is the climax that we’ve been building up to all week.
What does this day mean to you? Everything or not really anything? Allow me to take a moment to describe what Easter means to me…

Easter reminds me that God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, every creature and human being, loved me so much that He sent His one and only Son to die for me. Why? Because in order for me to have a relationship with my Creator, my wrongdoings, which created a barrier between God and I had to be paid for. Instead of paying for them myself, Jesus came and said ‘I’ll go in your place.’ Because of this, I never have to feel guilty, shameful or condemned ever again. Because of what Jesus did, and through my belief in Him, I am now right with God.

Jesus Christ has changed my life, and is changing it every day. He has given me forgiveness, meaning, purpose, fulfilment, contentment, salvation, and the promise of eternity in Heaven with Him one day (and the list goes on...) This is what Easter means to me.

I love that we get to celebrate Easter Sunday in Church today! And the reason it’s a celebration is because Jesus not only died, paying the price for my mistakes, but He rose again and is still alive today!

“I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.”
Revelation 1:18 NLT

Death has been defeated! The grave no longer has a hold over us! Jesus is alive and you can invite Him by His Spirit to live within you today!

Here’s a prayer that you can pray if you want to make that invitation:
Jesus, I acknowledge that you are the Son of God. I believe that you left Heaven and came to Earth to rescue me from a life separated from You. I recognise today that I am a sinner and I need a Saviour to pull me out of my sin and bring me into forgiveness. I ask today that you would forgive me. I invite you into my life; lead me, guide me and help me to build a relationship with You. I believe that as of this moment I am a new creation and I will never be the same again. In Your name I pray, amen.
If you prayed that prayer, you’ve just made the greatest decision of your life! I would love to invite you to join us in Church this Sunday. If you’re not local to Champions, find a Church near you where you can be strengthened in your faith and be taught the Word of God.

Today is a day of celebration! What a day to be alive! Happy Easter!
