Day 7 - Resurrection Sunday

If you want to know the significance of the resurrection, you have to know the significance of the death of Jesus.

John 19:28-30
Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When He had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

There's a big difference between ‘It is finished’ and ‘I am finished’.

These three english words spoken by Jesus were actually just one in the language of His day. Then we find that the one word in Greek (TEDELESTI) actually has four significant meanings.

When you discover these four meanings, you’ll understand the power of His death and resurrection:

 1. To bring to a conclusion or completion of a matter. It literally means…”MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I have completed everything you asked of me”.

2. It is the equivalent of the Old Testament Hebrew words spoken by the high priest after a sacrifice was made and means…END OF SACRIFICES FOREVER.

3. The word was also used in business transactions when a customer paid for something. The financier would stamp the invoice with the same word meaning…PAID IN FULL (Fully paid off/The debt has been paid/No more to pay).

4. The word also depicted in more classical Greek…TURNING POINT.

Jesus accomplished your salvation by His death on the cross and, therefore, your sins are once and for all paid for in full if you see today as your turning point. What an amazing power-packed word to deliver to the world in His last moments on earth!

If ever there was a day for a turning point in your life, then surely it has to be this day…EASTER DAY 2024.
